makayla (mak) crist is an outdoor adventure photographer and videographer who draws inspiration from the natural world and the people she meets along the way.

Born in idaho and raised in western montana, her early years were unconventional. mak's family frequently moved from job site to job site, and she was homeschooled for much of her early life. However, she attended a local high school once she discovered her passion for competitive swimming.

for mak, one of the best ways to connect with the landscape is to enter through the eyes of people immersed in nature every day. with her instinctive affinity for storytelling; mak builds an easy rapport with explorers, athletes, outdoor enthusiasts, builders, and makers of all kinds.
